Change is Good

I have decided to change the way that I blog on this site. Rather than try to come up with something to say every day, I will communicate the way I do; with pictures. I will attempt to post an image from my rather vast catalog on each and every day.

I have been taking photos for a long time. Some of them good, some not so much. They are a way for me to catch things, document them, that strike me and share the wonder and curiosity that is so embedded in me as a person.

Looking to get some feedback on my photographs.

With a large body of work accumulated over my 50 years of taking photographs I have been astoundingly lax when it comes to actually exhibiting them. I think it's past time, actually way past time. So, there are a few pieces on my website.

There are also quite a few more out on Society6 an online store that I use that you can look at. If you like them, just click on the little heart emblem to say so.

Now, the link goes directly to the Prints of the images, but they offer a wide range of products. Personally, I'm kind of partial to the canvas bags, they're durable and functional.

Made Some New Friends

I have been spending some time with family in Florida. If you have never been there it is a really beautiful state. If you have been there but your visit was mainly spent in the Orlando area (Disney World, Universal Studios, etc.), you really missed a lot. There is a lot of beautiful greenery, intriguing  places to investigate and a lot of friendly people.

My wife and I spend summers out there. One of our daughters, son in law (a native Floridian), and our two grandsons make their home there just South of Gainesville. We have seen a lot, but there is a whole lot more...

Recently I met some new friends, Britt and Bonnie. Britt is an architect and Bonnie is a photographer. It was great to meet them and chat a bit about photography and look at some of Bonnie and Britt's images. You can take a look for yourself at their website bhb images.

As you have already figured out, I hope, I am a photographer. I have been taking photographs for some time. Been doing it for around 50 years. Of course, things have changed in that time and now just about everyone has at least one camera with them at all times. I celebrate that and encourage them to use them well.

What you will see on these pages are just a small sampling of images that have I have captured over time. I will add to them as time passes.

If you find that one of my photos makes you stop and look a little bit deeper, I am pleased, you see what I saw. If you would like a print you can pick one up here at Pixels. They do prints in a lot of different forms from a basic frame ready  print in a bunch of sizes, on up to a shower curtain, if that's your fancy.
